The Discipleship Challenge invites us to Know Christ Intimately and Share Him Lovingly through the intentional study of Scripture.
The Challenge
Read selected books of the Bible, memorize one key verse from each, and give a brief summary of what you read. Choose your Track—from a few books to the entire Bible.
You can complete the challenge anytime in 2026 (January 1–December 31). Everyone who finishes any track will be recognized and receive a prize.

Bible Reading
There’s no required pace. For larger goals, a plan helps. The Navigators Bible Reading Plan offers four reading paths (Gospels, NT, Wisdom, OT) with daily readings 25 days a month. It’s an easy way to pick your path and stay on track.
You can also set your own pace. For example, finishing Paul’s Letters only takes one chapter a day for 87 days. Any reading plan works—even going freestyle!

Summaries
Each book you read needs a short summary. Awana provides helpful guides with a key verse, a theme, and a brief summary you’ll restate in your own words—not memorize.
Share your verse, theme, and summary with anyone who can confirm it and sign off: a parent, sibling, friend, fellowship group leader—anyone! Awana materials use ESV, but you can use any translation.

Who Can Participate?
Everyone. Parents can read the Gospels with their kids. Fellowship Groups can tackle the New Testament together. You can also take on the challenge on your own. Kids, teens, adults—everyone is welcome.
