Jeremy Wissink, Pastor of Student Ministries

Jeremy was blessed to grow up in a Christian family with parents who love the Lord and serve Him faithfully. Their example and instruction contributed to Jeremy placing his faith in Christ at a very young age. He enjoyed being part of a solid youth group in high school that continued his Biblical learning and enabled him to participate in many service and outreach activities, including yearly mission trips to Mexico.

Jeremy attended college at Grace University. Through time in classes, with fellow students, and discipleship under professors he began to feel the Lord leading him toward entering full time vocational ministry. He came to see the importance of understanding and applying the Bible to life in order to live faithfully in this world for the glory of God. To help this process in his life, he decided to attend Dallas Theological Seminary and he is excited to see how God uses this for His honor and glory.

Jeremy met Rachel while they were both in college in Omaha. He graduated two years ahead of her and did not know her well during their years in college. They continued to attend CBC after his graduation and were able to develop a friendship through the young adult group and praise and worship team. They were married on June 17, 2006 and have enjoyed growing in their relationship and learning what it means to sacrificially love each other.

Rachel grew up in a Christian home as the daughter of a pastor and gave her life to Christ at the age of 5. She graduated from Grace University with a music education degree and enjoys using her gift of piano playing to encourage others and bring glory to God. She is a loving, energetic, and godly woman who enjoys spending time with her friends and family, outdoor activities, and crafts.

Jeremy and Rachel were blessed on July 16, 2010 to welcome their son, Elliot, into the world! He is a joy to have in their family and they thank God for allowing them to raise and care for him. They are excited to watch Elliot grow and learn!

Jeremy loves music—from classical to rock. He enjoys playing the violin, especially with Rachel at the piano! Jeremy enjoys watching sports and playing basketball and golf. He also greatly enjoys spending time outdoors in God’s creation—camping, hiking, snow skiing, and picnics with Rachel.
