A. Second Coming of Christ We believe in the personal, visible, imminent, premillennial return of Christ (Acts 1:11; Rev. 1:7; Jn. 14:3; Titus 2:13; Rev. 5:9-10, 20:4-6). As the first coming covers a period of events, so also His Second Coming covers a period of events, such as the pre-tribulational Rapture (1 Thess. 4:13-17; 1 Cor. 15:50-52), the Great Tribulation (Mt. 24:21; 2 Thess. 2:3-10), the revelation of Christ at the end of the Great Tribulation period (Mt. 24:29-31), the Millennium (Rev. 20:1-9), and the Great White Throne judgment (Rev. 20:10-15). The day nor the hour of the beginning of Christ’s Second Coming no one knows (Mt. 24:36-42), but we can know when it is near at hand (1 Tim. 4:1-3; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; James 5:1-9; Mt. 24:14, 24:32-34). This hope of the Second Coming of Christ to receive His own (1 Thess. 4:13-17) is a purifying element in the life of the believer (1 Jn. 3:3) and a warning to the unbeliever (Mt. 24:42; 2 Pet. 3:10).
B. The Resurrection We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust (Jn. 5:28-29; 1 Cor. 15:22) to receive the things done in the body (2 Cor. 5:10; Rev. 20:12), and that the believer’s body shall be fashioned like unto His glorious body (Phil. 3:21), but there is no description of the body of the unbeliever.
C. Recompense of the Just and the Unjust We believe that the believers’ works will be judged according to their deeds here upon earth (1 Cor. 3:11-15; 2 Cor. 5:10; Rev. 22:12) and that they will receive rewards or crowns for their service (James 1:12; 1 Pet. 5:4; 2 Tim. 4:8; 1 Thess. 2:19; Rev. 4:4; 1 Cor. 9:25; Rev. 3:11).
We believe that the unbelievers’ wage for sin is death (Rom. 6:23) and that in the end they will be judged according to their works (Rev. 20:11-15).
D. The Final State We believe that the wicked after death will be in torment (Lk. 16:23) until the final judgment at the Great White Throne, when they will be eternally separated from God and cast into the lake of fire, more commonly known as everlasting hell (Mt. 25:41; Jn. 3:36; Rev. 20:14-15).
We believe that the final state of believers is far better than this present life in the body (Phil. 1:23; 1 Jn. 3:2; Rev. 14:13) and that their final and eternal home is in heaven, the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21-22:5).
