Dennis was born and raised in Munich, ND. He graduated from Grace University with a Bachelor’s in Social Sciences. While at Grace he met his wife Kathy and they were married on May 25, 1985. They began attending CBC in February 1987 and have been serving in various areas over the years. Dennis works for Ford Storage and Moving as their Operations/Warehouse Manager and has been there since 1983. Kathy works for Cherry Hills Management Company as the Office Manager/Leasing Consultant. They have 4 children, Darrin and his wife Maryclayre live in South Carolina with their grand-daughter Addy. Derrick and his wife Haley live here in Omaha. They have a son named Davis. Kelsey and her husband Justin were married in March 2012 and live here in Omaha. Kendra is studying abroad in England.
Keith was raised in South Dakota, and left the rural farm community to attend Grace University in1982. He met his wife Lisa at Grace, and they were married in 1985. After graduating with a degree in Mass Communication, he studied accounting and business at UNO, and began working as an accountant in 1989, and has worked as a CPA, controller and financial analyst for over 23 years. He is currently employed by CommScope as a financial manager. Lisa works for an Ophthalmology group as a concierge and receptionist. Keith and Lisa are proud of their two adult daughters, Lauren and Kendra. Keith and Lisa enjoy working in the kitchen at CBC, where Lisa coordinates the Wednesday night meal with some assistance from Keith. Keith also sings with the Carpenter’s Men quartet as a hobby.
Steve was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan and was raised in Jackson, Michigan. He left in 1979 when he joined the United States Navy. Steve was honorably discharged after 12 years of service and he and his wife Debbie settled in the Washington, DC metro area, and eventually pioneered across the country 14 years ago and ended up in Omaha. He has served on staff at several churches in the local area as a worship leader and a children’s ministry pastor. Steve is currently serving as the Awana Commander at CBC, participates on the worship team and also sings with the Carpenter’s Men quartet. He and his wife Debbie were married in June of 1980 and they have three children, Ryan, Levi and Emily, all of whom live in Omaha. In his spare time, Steve enjoys playing guitar, singing and riding his motorcycle.
Mel is a Kansas farm boy married to Arlene while attending Grace University. He was ordained by the FEBC the weekend JFK was shot. He is also a graduate of Grace Theological Seminary in Indiana. He was in pastoral ministry for 13 years, was successful in sales for four years and served Grace University for 31 years in administration and development roles, fully retiring in June 2012. Mel and Arlene have attended CBC since 1982. Mel’s service as an elder precedes Pastor Tschetter’s graduation from seminary. He also serves as chairman of the Deacon Committee. Mel and Arlene have three children who each also have three children so they are grandparents of nine. Spring of 2013 will bring two graduations and two weddings in North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa. The Friesens love watching sports, especially basketball. Mel loves to travel and also likes to hunt and shoot, woodworking and loves to help his son-in-law with harvest in North Dakota. They live one mile east of the church in Ralston.
Thomas Ice is Pastor-Teacher, Church Planter who will be leading a church plant for CBC in the spring of 2013 in the Omaha area. He has been a pastor for fifteen years at three Bible churches; two of which were plants by him. Tommy has been the Executive Director of The Pre-Trib Research Center for 18 years, which he founded in 1994 with Dr. Tim LaHaye, and Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at Liberty University and Seminary for 7 years. He has authored and co-authored about 30 books, written hundreds of articles, and has been a frequent conference speaker. Dr. Ice has a B.A. from Howard Payne University, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from Tyndale Theological Seminary, and has done post-graduate work at the University of Wales. He and his wife Janice have three grown sons.
Carlos was born 55 years ago in the city of Havana, Cuba. He immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of nine and lived in New Orleans until 11 years ago when, along with his wife, Deborah, his son, Kevin, and daughter, Allison, he came to Omaha with a position at First Data Resources. Carlos remained at FDR until 2005 when he moved to The Gallup Organization where he remains currently. Carlos has been a member at CBC for over three years and serves as an Elder and Adult Bible Class Coordinator. Carlos and Debbie have been married 25 years as of August 25th, 2009. Their son, Kevin, studies Aerospace Engineering at Iowa State University, and their daughter, Allison, is studying at Grace University working on her degree in Education.
Chuck was born and raised in Omaha. After graduating from Grace University, he attended Dallas Theological Seminary where he received the Master of Theology degree. Chuck joined the staff of CBC in 1987 as Pastor of Youth and Christian Education and became Senior Pastor in 1990. He and his wife, Lydia, are the parents of six children: Sarah, Rebecca, Nathan, Anna, Maria and Rachel.
