Backyard Bible Clubs

This summer the CBC Children’s Ministries Leadership Team felt that God wanted us to not only host a Vacation Bible School program but to also make an effort to have at least 15 families from CBC host a 5-Day Club (Backyard Bible Club). This is one of the most effective child evangelism programs in the city. It reaches children where they are at and yet requires very little effort on the part of the host home. The following description is taken from the CEF website and describes the 5-day Clubs and the host homes responsibilities.

What are Five Day Clubs?
Five day clubs are clubs that last one hour for five days, Monday through Friday. They can be held in anywhere! They can be held in your home, garage, yard, a nearby park or merely an open space. In order to host a Five Day club we ask that you:
1. Pray for the club! Prayer is vitally important in the preparation of the ministry event!
2. Deliver invitations to children in your community, friends, and neighbors.
3. Bring a small snack/drink for the children who attend the club.
We do the rest! Our trained summer missionaries come and are responsible for the handouts to be given the kids, the games, the songs, and the teaching.

Currently we have seven families who have agreed to host a club. Would you be willing to be a host family as well? Last year over 50 children placed their faith in Christ during the Omaha 5-Day Clubs! You could be part of this. Please pray about this and ask if this is something God would have you do for the children of your neighborhood.
